Visionary Art

Visionary Art is a term used for artwork that hopes to capture the mystical and transcendental realities that people experience when in altered states of reality such as when a shaman is in a trance, monks are in a state of deep meditation of when an individual has a psychedelic experience. 

Visionary artists hope to capture these states of consciousness like a photograph captures the reality in front of  us.
